The Forêt de Soignes, a mosaic of forest ecosystems
On 27 September 2025 - Auderghem
During the Soignes Forest Days, take a walk for the general public to discover the forest ecosystems. The Forêt de Soignes is a rich and diverse area with different ecosystems. It is home to beech forests (60% of the surface area), oak forests, coniferous stands and mixed stands. There are also open areas, clearings, forest marshes, dense bushes, wasteland and areas with dead trees, creating a mosaic of micro-ecosystems. These different interconnected environments offer a wide diversity of flora and fauna, including rare and protected species. I invite you to take a stroll through these different landscapes, old-growth forest, wetlands, regeneration areas and nature reserve.
Walk for the general public (families, adults of all ages, young people). We recommend a minimum age of 17 for children. Our dog friends don't like our explanations. Please leave them at home.
Registration required, places are limited. Please complete 1 registration form per participant.
The Royale Forestry Society of Belgium (RFSB) is a non-profit organisation dedicated to the forest and foresters. Its Forest Friends projects are aimed at the general public who want to understand the forest environment. The RFSB's volunteer Forest Guides will help you discover the forest as a source of life, in close contact with mankind.
