Privacy policy
In order to respect your right to privacy and the confidentiality of your data, and to comply with EU Regulation 2016/679, Société Royale Forestière de Belgique (SRFB), NTF and Landelijk Vlaanderen (LV) wish to inform you of the way in which they process (collect, record, use and store) the personal information that you provide to them and for which they assume responsibility.
The principles of protection will remain unchanged in the future. However, some of the details described below may change as a result of technology or the state of the art in the field: they will then be updated in this notice, which will be published on the SRFB, NTF and LV websites. In this case, a specific notice will be published in our respective magazines and a copy of the general conditions of confidentiality will be sent to you on written request.
The respective persons responsible for processing your personal data are the Director of the SRFB, the Secretary General of NTF, the Director of LV and the specific subcontractor for the computer database, the Director of Xsi sprl.
What personal data do we need from you?
- the information needed to identify or contact you: surname, first name, year of birth, title; postal and e-mail address, fixed and mobile telephone number; social network address, etc.
- information useful for calculating the amount of your annual subscription, insurance or PEFC certification, if applicable: total forest area, total agricultural area, location and surface area of your plots, type of trees, etc. (optional)
- useful information designed to inform you about changes in local, regional or international policy that affect your properties as indicated in our database
- your forestry interests and preferences (optional) so that we can invite you personally to our training courses, conferences or special activities, etc.
- your registrations for meetings, conferences, training courses and bookshop or group purchase orders, etc.
- your interests in matters managed by NTF and LV (optional) as part of their defence of private rural property
- precise information that you communicate to us in the context of advice provided, personal coaching or a specific service such as, for example, NTF's legal advice service.
What do we use your personal information for?
Your details are necessary for the SRFB, NTF and LV to offer all the services reserved for their members: membership, subscription, insurance, certification, the sending of 'Silva Belgica' and 'Silva mail', 'Ma Terre, Mes Bois', NTF Flash Info, Landeigenaar, legal services and, in the near future, from registration to online payment for the bookshop, services, training and various activities, etc.
These services are made possible by the use of the personal information you provide.
How do we protect the confidentiality of your personal data?
Your personal information is stored in secure operating environments, inaccessible to the public, but only :
- authorised employees of the association(s) of which you are a member (NTF and/or SRFB and/or LV)
- employees of the sub-contractor Xsi sprl responsible for the integrity and maintenance of our database and applications.
All details of transactions (including date, time, operator, creation, consultation, modification, deletion) carried out in the database are recorded in an audit file that can only be accessed by the data controller in the event of a dispute or suspicion of a leak or breach.
The data controllers and their subcontractors take all appropriate measures to protect your personal data.
To whom do we disclose your personal information and why?
SRFB, NTF and LV do not disclose your personal data to any third party and do not publish any of your personal data in order to avoid any unsolicited requests or messages. There may be exceptions to this general rule where the partners or owners of the personal data have given prior authorisation for the detailed and limited distribution of all or part of this information.
How long do we keep your personal information?
We keep your personal data for as long as it is relevant to the purposes for which it was collected.
Data relating to one-off actions will be deleted after the period required for the action in question or after the statutory data retention period, and will be rendered anonymous if there is a longer-term statistical interest.
Tracking technology - How and why do we use it?
To enable us to adapt and constantly improve our various services for our members and visitors who consult our website, we carry out an internet audience analysis using the "Google Analytics" tool.
The "cookie" (a small file stored on the machine of the visitor to a website) associated with the SRFB, NTF or LV site does not record any browsing data that could be used for profiling.
How can you access and modify your personal information?
You can send us any request to find out about your personal data or make a change to correct an error or inaccuracy, using the usual means of communication.

A "Contact" section located in the top line of the SRFB website, the NTF website and the LV website allows any visitor to send a message to the data controller.
