What future for our forests in the face of climate change?

This Thursday, Eddy Caekelberghs (RTBF) welcomed Philippe de Wouters to answer a series of questions about the future of our forests (from 37:40).

«Yes, our forests are in danger, and we need to take care of them. That means reforestation. This is already happening. But the effects won't be felt immediately.»

«When you plant a lot of hectares today, you have to realise that they will only really be forest and therefore carbon collectors in 20, 30 or even 50 years» time.»

And we have to realise one thing: the forest of 2100 will probably no longer be the one we know today.
