Informing in the forest: educational signs to engage with visitors
Belgian forests are being visited more and more. Amblers, local residents, families and sports enthusiasts now encounter forests undergoing significant change... without always understanding the management choices.
To help owners and managers explain, contextualise and appease, the SRFB is proposing a series of educational panels to install directly in the forest. Their objective: Inform without overwhelming, spark nuance and foster a better understanding of forest management.

Short, clear messages integrated into the landscape
The signs have been designed to:
To blend in visually in a forest environment
Deliver a very brief message, accessible to all
Avoid a preachy or technical tone

Each panel addresses A specific theme, in connection with concrete situations observable in the field.
To go further: a QR code for in-depth content. The most curious visitors can thus access, via their smartphone, a web page offering further information.
The sign catches the eye, and the QR code provides more detail: everyone can choose their own level of information.
